Mark Brand will discuss "The Mehlquist Legacy of Rhododendrons" and "New Developments in Rhododendron Breeding" including new genetic splicing to address specific problems such as Phytophthora fungus problems.

October 2, 2001 7:00 P.M. Member's Plant Auction. An opportunity to acquire plants from other members of the society. Everyone's participation will make this a successful event! A great opportunity to offer to others your surplus! Plan now to prepare materials for this event.

Hint: Small plants "sell" better than larger ones

November 6, 2001 7:00P.M. Neil Jorgensen will give a talk on "The Shade Garden" including wild flowers, Japanese maples, rhododendrons, and azaleas. Neil is a landscape designer with years of experience in Eastern Massachusetts and Maine. He is the author of a couple of books on New England Geology. Experiment Station
December 4, 2001 7:00 P.M. Orlan Geddart "The Smaller the Better" Orlan will speak on dwarf conifers, other dwarfs and low growing plants. Slides were taken by Joe Strauch, a professional photographer from Lenox, Massachusetts. Part of this talk was presented at the 2001 annual meeting of the North American Rock Garden Society at Pittsburgh in April. Experiment Station

May 18, 2002 12:00 noon- 5:00 P.M (Public). The Truss Show is being held jointly with the Connecticut Iris Society (affiliated with the American Iris Society) and the Connecticut Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society. Admission is free to the public
